Windows

you can see my soul
thru the windows of my heart
I could tell you stories
but I'm not sure where to start

sometimes my windows
are covered up in rain
they are actually teardrops
released from sad thoughts of pain

sometimes I see myself
looking back at me
in the windows of my world
is there somewhere else I should be

the world keeps turning on
I simply cannot stop it
I would hand you my heart
but I'm afraid that you might drop it

so I try to focus on the good things
the things that should make me happy
like my music and my writing
but I better make it snappy

cause the windows need cleaning now
they are stained with soil and dust
since my sunflower has wilted
my heart has begun to rust

Gomer LePoet...
look thru any window - what do you see?
