In the cold distance
In the cold distance
words of pleasure
words of lust
turn the soul unto dust
thoughts of kindness
thoughts so sweet
bow thee now before thy feet
for the tower is watched by heavens princes
for lovers who come and go
and there are many here amongst us
who plain and simply cannot know
dreams of splendor
dreams so vast
all the precious time has passed
too much confusion
time is the thief
searching now for some relief
the code you speak of is hidden away
you make seek but will not find
we lay our weary heads to rest
try to untangle our troubled mind
in the cold distance
too far to see
explanations of our misery
the wildcat's howl
the solar wind growl
our world remains a mystery
