they say that drunken words are sober thoughts
I was never one to believe such a thing
until my phone rang and it was you

you have a way with words, slow yet satisfying
I held on to every slur and stutter.
as if it meant something
because to me, it did

maybe you'll remember
but even if you don't
I'll know you were still thinking of me
in your toxic state of mind
