i was in killarney on a sunny day
i sat beneath a tree to pass the time away
then i saw a bluebird high up in a tree
when i looked again he was sat with me

he began to sing with a lovely tune
with a song of love as he began to croon
a lovely lullaby as gentle as can be
made me feel calm made me feel so free.

with his bright blue feathers as lovely as can be
and his song of love that he sang to me
when he finished singing he flew in to the sky
then he looked  around as he said goodbye.

i still think of him and the song he sang to me
that made me feel so calm made me feel so free
maybe he will return as i sit beneath the tree
and the killarney bluebird once again i will see
