What an amazing human being And I just discovered he made a C in Speech in Seminary! Now that is a lesson for us all; Maybe everyone won't appreciate our efforts But don't give up. Having grown up in the rural South During the time of the Marches and the Segregation I was determined when I had children They would understand that The color of your skin, your ethnicity Your place in society Is not something that matters. What really matters is that you have respect And concern for others, That you spend time helping Them out of the proverbial ditch. I am proud to say that my two sons Grew to be humans that are caring, Responsible members of our society. On this MLK Day, let us all strive To make the world a better place FOR EVERYONE.
