Persnickety and rickety
This old car of mine
My old friend
So many good times
Down to Baja with Lars
Still a friend, so fine
It still gets me there
Each and every time

I bet this car remembers
Running round the hills
Innocents at large we were
Growing up in the world
My friends have all dispersed
Gone are the good old days
All that remains is this old car
Still not out of phase

With its clean and classic lines
It’s soft purring tone
I keep it neat and shiny
In a sense it’s my home
This old car of mine
It’s family
When you see it coming
In it will be me
