I don’t know where to start Sometimes the going gets rough If she hasn’t broken your heart It means you don’t love her enough And if you can’t be critical when you see That she’s going astray I hate to say it, but if you’re asking me? You didn’t love her anyway
She was the envy of everyone Once upon a time, She led the way by her example As the perfect paradigm That the whole world looked to When they wanted a sign She showed them what to do And rarely crossed the line
Now all the things she stood for Seems to have disappeared We hardly recognize her now She’s become what we feared A shadow of her former self And that makes us scared I don’t know what her future holds But we should be prepared
We all should be a mirror Held up for her to see Her beauty has all but faded It’s becoming history To do nothing but stand idly by Would be a true travesty Because those who really loved her Wouldn’t just let her be
