Moments in time
Go by single file
Though I loved you then
As I love you now
But what did I know
I was just a child
That’s what they’d say
And I’d just smile

Moments in time
Can give definition
Or reason and rhyme
To reminiscing
Like déjà vu
If you stop to listen
It tends to bring back
All that’s now missin’

Moments in time
Have come and gone
Although in my mind
They tend to linger on
Time gets away
But I could be wrong
The things that it conjures
Are so very strong

Moments in time
Snapshots of the mind
That memory captures
Oh how it enraptures
Though moments in time
Eventually fade
Except in the mind
Where they’ve always stayed
