Shadow Cabinet
It was spring cleaning time,
so, out came the cabinet only
to discover what the original
wallpaper actually looked like.
A reflection of non activity
where spiders had woven
Jackson ******* mazes with
daubs if spotted fly carcasses.
The drawers, five tiers of them
were stiff with inactivity and
full of inconsequential papers
smelling of moth *****.
All four of the castors were
like old testicles hanging off
the legs but serving no other
purpose, not even decorative.
Now that its gone the blank
area is the only bright spot
in the room and a nice wood
fire in the hearth reflecting it.
