To the place where she lay
And bled out.
Heart wrenching memories.
Pleasure,pain, loss.
She watched it seep out
In violets and reds and flashes of color.
It wouldn't be long.
She didn't want to stay in her skin.
It was clammy and itchy
Seeming to burst at the seems.
She wished for a reprieve,
A soothing calming balm
Across her battered nerves.
Her mind was bruised
From the thoughts of moments
Before and now and next.
If only she could live again.
She wondered what it would be like
To ignore the pain and get up
Walk in the sun's rays.
Up and down paved walkways.
Instead she lay in a tomb
Curled up on her side.
Shards of glass piercing her consciousness.
It hurt to exist.
She begged to die in peace,
But that too eluded her.
Like love and hope and faith.
And so she remained.
In a time removed from ours,
She was lost in a tomb somewhere between here and there.
