speak in tongues
I listen to
the “news”
switching
channels
not taking
sides
opinions
flood the
air
but without
enough
substance
to drown me
or even quench
my thirst
or even wet
my tongue
most tongues
are dull and
forked
moving rapidly
cutting nothing
I need a tongue
that is sharp
moves slowly
and cuts deep
that penetrates
me with knowledge
so I understand
something completely
and can speak
another language
