Harbor lights
reflect in brackish water
tall, thin houses of color
reach to the black sky
yellow moon beams
ice floes ferried by wind
driven by heaving waves

Seawall shelters harbor boats
ripples dance
sea smells creep in window cracks
breathe deep
dawn, blackness dwells
boats move
fishnets stretch
motors run
boots slosh
weather chatter
off to catch
fried fish supper
