Look at the old man

Staring back at you

With the world in his eyes

From his hospital bed

Knowing he is going to die

Look at the young mother

With her beauty to see

Soon to lose a part of her

Maybe to save her life

At the cost of her breast

Look at the baby in the cot

With all those years ahead

Cruelly now taken away

A young life, like a candle

Blown out in the wind

Look at the soldier, the hero

Who fought to protect us all

Fighting to stay alive, for his country

Only to come back safe and sound

To finally lose a war he couldn't win
