I want to be free of you
To wake up without the burning urge to call you
Or the unbearable need to see you
I want to find new reasons to smile
Other than your loving attention
New jokes other than our private ones

I want to make plans for myself
With an invisible face waiting at the altar
Other than your handsome one
That i know like the back of my hand

I want to love you
But i also want to hate you
Because loving you this intensely
Brings me immense joy
And bottomless pain.
