Don't Tell Me
in an email or a letter.
Words alone –
lack emotion.
You can do better.
Don’t tell me
on the phone.
Voices carry.
I’m not alone.
Don’t tell me
in a text.
Are you crazy?
I’m perplexed.
Don’t ghost me.
That’s so lame.
Or write a post
about who’s to blame.
Tell me face to face.
Look me in the eyes.
Pick a time and place
without the mock or guise.
Don’t use spiteful words.
They have no appeal.
And don’t you ever –
tell me
how you think I should feel.
