sometimes i wonder
how my life would be
if I ever
got the nerve to say
how I feel.

i admire people
who aren’t afraid to put themselves out there.
they say what they think,
what they feel.
but i never can.

i could never
wear my heart on my sleeve.
i’ve tucked it away
so far deep inside me
sometimes I wonder if it’s still there.
