I noticed a queue this
morning, filled with
very poor people ,who,
by their appearance and
demeanour, had little in
the way of possessions.

Yet, there they were in
the rain and cold hoping
that by the time their
turn came, something,
even anything would be
theirs for the taking.

I thanked God for my
good fortune and hoped
never to be in such a state,
whereby, my only means
of acquiring what I needed,
necessitated waiting in line,
'at a voluntary soup kitchen'.
