Mar 2013
I woke up to
the sound of the earth
whispering sweet nothings
into my ear,
gliding its gentle breath
across my flesh
dotted with
goosebumps

The trees,
with their delicate
grainy arms
stand naked
in the cool
autumn morning;
they blow gently
in the breeze,
as if their limbs
are waving to
greet me

Fragile leaves
surround
its trunk,
in dazzling yellows,
outstanding oranges,
raging reds,
and deep browns;
the ground acts
as a blank canvas
that displays
a sea of colors
that the earth
has to offer

As I walk out
the front door
to greet the outside
world,
crisp leaves
crunch under my
toes;
the sun bathes
me in a sweet
warmth that isn't
considered
overpowering,
and a gust of
wind carries
my soul
to heaven

oh, how beautiful
is thee,
this gorgeous
season
filled with
great laughter,
joyous times,
and amazing weather
