Deep down the heart's labyrinth
    the unnameable vacuum
yet there the tidal waves swarm
    shadows they darkly assume-

here's shut-off land-- not an inner sanctum-
would love and hope ever re-bloom?
all past dreams have been swept away
for rest and peace there's no longer room.
