fire on fire
we stare at the flames
hand in hand
eyes jumping with excitement
unsure of the out come
but not ready to give up
you hold my face
staring deep into my eyes
our lips meet
and my heart melts
but then your hands leave
and you fall to the ground
your  body frozen
tears in my eyes
a ****** knife
i clench
within my white knuckles
the sirens call
and i run
leaving you there
my tears are dry
my smile returns
but you lay still
eyes full of emptiness
i wave one last time
and descend into the darkness
