I saw a drop
Land in a puddle
And a perfect ring raced
To the puddle’s edge

I saw another drop
And another and their rings raced out too
And then they joined together

I saw a thousand rain droplets
Stuck to my window
Until the rush of the wind
Joined one to another

I imagined the deepest depths of the ocean
Silent, swirling, black
Built of billions of drops and droplets
All working together
As one

And I pondered the secrets of the universe
The possibilities that arise
When one joins another
And another and another
To become many
