you are my life jacket

keeping me from drowning

i’m in arctic waters with the flames of my love for you spreading miles

but just as my love for you burns so hot

and warmth of the fire is warming my skin

the love i had is withering away

the flames grow dim

the warmth fading

my demise is impending

the icey water is increasingly unbearable

but you can’t save me from the inevitable hypothermia

as i float there in those icey waters

you keep me afloat

but i’m still dying
as time went by the love i had for her was growing smaller until it hurt me to stay with her and amplified the depression
