Of all the things I’ve ever wanted
She alone is thee most vaunted
Daunting just to think about
The way she could
Leave me without
So much as breath
Swept up and left
For dead
Bereft
Of any longer coveting
The call of sirens beckoning
A reckoning
They can’t contain
Can’t fathom
Whispering my name
Seduction’s winner-
Take-all game
I’ve played
And won
And tied
And lost
Too many times
To count the cost
And so instead
Refused to spend
Another dime
On bedded dread
For freely she
Still haunts my head
