Even out
One might ask me why I’m holding
my tongue,
why I keep giving until I have
nothing left.
I guess it’s because I hope
someday someone will do the same
for me.
If the universe really is fair,
and it makes sure everything
gets evened out
then I have something great to
look forward to.
I don’t do it for them, I do it for me.
