I see
her buzzing
like a big
bull fly
up and down,

and then
occasionally
a sideways turn
across love's
kitchen window.

and then
here it
comes again "swap!"
one swing on
top of
another
back to
back without
mercy or
pity in
this dying flight
of circumstance.

but she
will probably
escape this
fate too...
she has for
the last 40 years
or so....
and then

until one
day there
will be only
be pieces of
her smeared
red and black
across this
hot afternoon
kitchen glass.

she calls
it falling in
and out of
love.

and then
finally August 11, 2018
2:20 p,m, in
the afternoon
it happened...

"swap!" and
that is
all there
is to that.

she's broken...
