In the seed they were to be ,
Nurtured with food from the cotyledon,
And quenched their thirst with water seeping through the micropyle.
A baby plant at last,
Time to go our ways friend,
Adieu.
I am the shoot,
I will weave through the soil,
And out into the sunlight,
Ah!The beauty  of nature and fresh air,
I will be the stem and have branches, leaves, flowers and fruits.
You my friend, the root will stay down,
But, you hold us tightly with the soil,
Without you we are nothing,
You send us water and minerals,
You make nitrates for our healthy growth,
Though we are apart, friends we shall be,
I will send you food too,
Some you can store in your roots,
After all we are born from the same seed.
