She whispered
Where are you?
His silence was so loud
That it deafened her ears
And stilled the leaves
That rustled underfoot
The cold was within
And the cold was without
Skin stretched tight
Across aching bones
While silent tears froze
On her sweetly
Sleeping cheeks
