We weren’t the kids
That we were before
She had that body
I couldn’t ignore
And we fell in like
More and more
Then she surrendered herself
For me to explore

That friends became lovers
Isn’t a crime
In fact, it happens
All of the time
But I never thought
Of her as mine
Though she was anyway
Once our stars aligned

Seems, like turned to love
In the blink of an eye
We had. such a long history
Her and I
Before we fell in love
And couldn’t deny
How happy we were
That we gave it a try

Wish I could say
There was a happy ending
But what is the point
Of my pretending
Or the false message
That would be sending
In a vain effort
To avoid offending
