Why have your teeth fallen out
And your hair turned grey?,
Said the child with golden locks
And an inquisitive tongue
Which swept around words
And tasted thoughts
Like a juicy vitamin pill.

Her Grandma who was old
But had a mind which curled
Like the scraps of a ponytail
Explained that this is how age is
Changing one like a chameleon
To a different state
They smiled together.
