It flickers and burns,
It shines and flutters,
Creating a dancing mannequin
With its own flare.
It shines with a quaint light
Yet could lit the room
On a dark night,
It's flames are like my mind
Always taking shapes and images,
It's like my heart
Raging and rising
Like the chaos of love.
The candlelight is like a calming friend,
In the emptiness of the room you are in.
It's like a companion that has its own battle to fight with such finite time
Yet still it will feed you warmth and light.
Short on time yet not unkind,
The very personification of life,
The candlelight that flickers and flutters like my mind.
