When I was at my worst
When I was just about to jump,
I got a prescription
From life
Two doses of her
One to three times
A day,
To ease my soul
To bring sleep
To feel again
To make me
Sure footed,
But the side effects
Were worse than
My initial sickness
Heartbreak and doubt
Or so I thought,
In recovery
I look back
And realize
At least
I'm still alive
And I no longer
Want to let go;
Thanks to her,
My placebo...
