Would It Help You
If I shared with you
A part of my soul
One I keep hidden
Locked away
Deep down inside

Would it help you understand
Who I am
What makes me tick
Where I have been
Why I am the way I am
How I truly feel
My fears
My desires
My wants
My needs
All that I seek

Would it help you see
The dark parts of me
The ones I cannot easily explain
For fear if I tried
The last bit of glue
Holding me together
Would give way
And I would finally fall apart
Never to regroup again

Would it help you
Help us
If I shared
Just a piece
Or would you run away
Seeing how damaged
I truly am
Knowing the reasons
Realizing my flaws and imperfections

Would it help you love me
A flawed soul
Seeking the love
Of another flawed soul
Both deserving love
On the deepest level
To share a life together
In this imperfect world

Would it help you
If you knew
If you saw
If I shared
Could you love me
Flaws and all
