Waking Up...

I woke up this morning thinking that I will hate you.

I tried to find some flaws in your being,

Some irregularity in your skin,

Some impurity in your heart,

But what I found instead were my own faults.

 

I woke up this morning thinking that I will not remember you.

I tried to erode the memories of your essence,

The feel of your skin,

The scent of your body,

But what I did instead is re-live all the happy memories.

 

I woke up this morning thinking that I will be better off without you.

I tried to immerse myself in new groups,

To find someone new,

To find someone beautiful,

But what I did instead was look for you in others.

 

I woke up the following morning thinking that I will hate you…
