Mar 2019
the old gypsy restaurant
is still the same.
Hungarian waiters
serve the same food.

For just a moment
the warmth of the wine
Glows like sunshine
on my tired heart.

I pass a ten dollar bill to
The violinist.
His gypsy violin is playing
Our song
La vie en rose

.if I close my eyes.
and sip my wine
I can still feel you here
across the table from me.
Eyes as bright
as sunlight on the water.

I stop the flowers girl
And buy a red rose.
Laying it by your unused plate
The words I love you
Just whispered  loud enough
For her to hear.

Is your lady coming she asked.
No I whisper  to her.
She is already here.
Ahh  romance
Some losses cause scars
That never heal.
