Cascading colors
Like paint on a canvas
Dripping, melting, and morphing
In the caress of the cool evening breeze, I lie
Drinking in the summer sky

I watch as the warm reds, oranges, and yellows fade
Cooler shades slowly sneaking in from behind
Royal purples, midnight blues
Banishing the warmth from the realm of night
Taking with them, celestial light

Darkness fighting desperately; seeking to forever dominate
Morning light breaking through the black chains of despair
Angelic white light crashing through the nighttime terrors
Golden sunshine lending hope to the world once more
Watching blue skies, while black birds soar

Colors
Swirling through the skies
Always out of reach
The world so much bigger than I
Made obvious by the colors of the sky
