The jelly bean poems / 7
Like fallen
leaves
you come
circling
down to
me,
under grey
skies and
broken
wishes.
and I
wait for
a word
not really
needing a
explanation,
of who you
are what
you dream
about.
just a
moment
in time
of you.
and hope
is a rainbow
in your eyes,
amid the
chaos of
doubt and
expectations
in your
life.
and I offer
you jelly beans
as a
surprise in
hope and trust
that you
will smile
with me
someday
and dance.
such are
the great wishes
of small
poets
that meet
along the
great road
of life.
and in any
day of
mine I would
say it
has
been my
greatest honor
to sit
under these
smoke stacked
colored skies,
and daydream
and write
to you.
