Mother to Daughter
a lil girl asked her mom
one summer night,
"Mom, why can't we just
love those you love us
and unlove those
who don't?"
glittered eyed
her mom answered,
"My child,
truth is...
it isn't love
until it demands
no love in return.
it isn't love
until it is painful."
'til then...
