You and I cannot pretend
That Donald Trump couldn’t happen again
Who believed he’d ever win,
Like he did at the last election’s end?
While |’m feeling new jacks, like AOC
Everything they say doesn’t have to be
They are inclined to occasionally slip
As sometimes happens when you shoot from the hip

We cannot afford to
Fall into his trap
Because of inexperience
Or a knowledge gap
Nor should we be sitting ducks
That a master manipulator
Easily plucks
Or a sitting President constantly *****

We can’t afford to throw
Caution to the wind
Then learn to regret it
Sadly, in the end
We have to stay woke
I tell you my friend
Listen to the people
Throughout this land

We have to bring
Our best A game
If we want to change
The picture frame
It needs to be changed
And don’t we all know it
Now the hard work begins
We have to show it
