Who are you?
Who are you really?
I'm stuck
Between you
And a hard place,
Not caring for the world
But caring
Because you are in it,
But my soul
Wants to be selfish,
Just for you,
And no one else,
I open up
But like rats
Others scurry in,
Won't turn away,
As if fighting currents
Weren't enough,
I keep sinking,
I want to reach for you,
But you're far,
So I keep getting pulled down,
But I've done this before,
Hundreds of times,
Just never knew
Why to keep my head up
Above the serene waters,
Turbulence down below,
For you,
I'll keep fighting,
Until there is no strength
Left in me,
Let the tide take me
When you're through,
I'll surrender,
You will be the last...
