You are proud and destructive. Loud and argumentative. Return the phone calls you never made. Feel into your faith. Waves upon waves upon waves.
I watch your heart become a pocketbook. Apoplectic neglect. The accomplices we fail to protect. The edges are sacred. Naked. Lace and finger-paints, give meaning to our dress rehearsals.

A poem is a wave. As love is a feather. Send me your heart in a letter.
I will read it by the ocean. Movement is denial. You lied to me through your smile. I can see your insides. Buying out the real estate. Poetry made you soft. Feelings are lost in your basement. Sands shift like apples fall from treetops. I am bottomless. Now we read the newspapers to find the flavors we used to savor, in morning’s fragile atmosphere.
