I saw a rose today
It stood alone on the sidewalk
I wondered of it's thoughts, and what it had to say
But too afraid, I didn't talk
Bewildered the rose looked stunned
It wondered "Why would you desert me?"
I replied to the rose I have shunned,
"I can see your thorns, and I don't want you to hurt me."
