The Divide
Try as hard as we might
There will always be a divide
Between what's wrong and who thinks they're right
Apply this to either side
We can say let's get together
As we pull each other apart
All because we think we know better
Have you lately checked your heart
And yet we wonder why
There is such a great divide
When we don't budge an inch
How could it grow in size
I know, I know what's good for you
You seem to say the same for me
Perhaps if we followed our own rules
Then we all would plainly see
But when it comes to both sides
Between what's wrong and who thinks they're right
Try as hard as we might
There will always be a divide
