I've wasted my life:
Telling folk tales
Defeating blinding worries
Putting asunder the wars
My heart wages
with my mind
Calming the storms that rage
on in my soul
Staring at the blinking stars
They don't seem to shut their eyes
I think that's why they are so wise
They get to see past the unreal smiles
of a woman and the
"how are you fairing? "on a Friday night
I've wasted my life:
Talking about the future
Forsaken past
Listening to my heartbeat
Beat to the beat of the beating drums
Wondering why my lips won't make music
But my hands can make words
Why my waist won't twist and turn
Twist and turn
Lately I've been twisting and turning
Having the same **** nightmare. Call me delusional
I think I'm a professional
At faking a smile unintended
Letting go when I'm still holding on
Saying it's okay
Always having my way
around...... (sigh)
I've wasted my life!
