Opening presents
Paper everywhere
Santa’s come and gone
And left chaos and despair

Did you get what you asked for
Or did Santa miss the chance
He keeps track of  who’s good and bad
And they say he takes a stance

On gifting presents to the ones
Who help their fathers and mothers
Giving coal to those who aren’t kind
To their sisters and their brothers

Perhaps it’s time we reorganized
And learnt to help ourselves
Not depending on an old fat man
And his many helpful elves

To be good means that we must look
At all our inner thoughts
Our actions and our many deeds
And  many kinds of oughts

For when we learn to be so kind
In helping others out
Then we don’t need a red suited man
To help us be devout
