The courtship poems 27
Fingers stretched
by fate
of open hands
lie still upon
the hillside
sloping grass,
hoping
to reach
out to you
and pull
you on
top of me..
my imagination
chasing teddy
bear clouds
running across
the open sky
that I wish
I could
see reflected
back at me
in your eyes.
lost for
a moment
in the
grey shadows
of this day.
I stop and
dream
of you.
and for
a moment
you are here.
and suddenly
it is like no
place I
have ever
known,
it must be
the moment
when everything
before us
dies.
and love
lies naked
in our
eyes.
and eternity
smiles.
