See the enemies approaching
Closing in from every side
Wake up screaming I was dreaming
They dissipate with open eyes
They were real not a figment
Only from time left behind

They were people we were fighting
Flesh and blood like you and me
Scared of dying
Dodging bullets as they run across the field
Bodies falling voices crying
Wishing nothing else but peace

After seeing all the carnage of a ****** battlefield
Can you ever be the person you once were
Or will you yield
To the voices you are hearing in your never ending dreams
Take the pain away
Just **** me
Will the anguish ever cease
