But we live
in the mundane
doing the simplest tasks
is the ineluctable grain--

life is liveable in waking hours
as long as there isn't too much to complain
we wake, we labour, we love, we hope
the same routine greets us again and again-

why visit or converse with the philosopher
would there be any gain?
we would be blinded in the maze
and perhaps agonise in existential pain

rather we should in gladness abide
let our language be  gentle and plain
when gratitude and simple joys abound
life's music comforts in cheerful train.
