It was a secret that wouldn't stay secret
That I should have buried long ago
But instead I stayed awake staring at it
Sliding it under my pillow
Seeing you was more painful than I expected
But more painless than I hoped
I slid it out from under my pillow
And laughed, like it was a joke
I never expected to be here
And I know there is nothing I can do
But in my sickness, in my heartbroken state
I know now, I'm still in love with you
