Sitting

the wind takes

your thoughts

to scatter,

lying on

the floor

like so many

pieces of

broken hearts,

some cutting

deeper than

others,

some stuck

under your

skin and

you will

never get

them out,

I could see

it in

your eyes

from the

first moment

I saw

your face.

the great

solitude there

and the

overwhelming

loss of fallen

stars.

but once

they all

shot high

and forever

across

your eyes

and you

blessed them

one by

one.

as now

you have

blessed

me with

your sight,

and we are

children in

each other's

eyes,

in that

magical place

late at

night running

down the

backstreets

of our youth,

where anything

seemed possible.

and first love

was a forever

moment

in your

eyes.
