I've always known that love lasts forever
But forever might not be long enough
Memories that we will never sever
The present is trying to call its bluff

Loving the old, the constant, beautiful
Both live with an undying faith for God
Always have been hard-working, dutiful
Though beautiful, both the best kind of odd

Both will receive an everlasting life
Began when it became love at first sight
Perfect man and woman; husband and wife
Both birds waiting to take their chance in flight

To last forever is the biggest wish
Souls swim away in the river as fish
A sonnet written for my great grandparents.
